Perry County has celebrated the re-enactment of the burning of the county Courthouse for several years now in anticipation of the sequecentenniel of the Civil War.

There is high interest in the history of Tennessee during the Civil War, and thanks to some residents who are very active with the Sons of the Confederate Veterans, including Rep. Steve McDaniel of Henderson County, the fun is shared with everyone who comes to Linden for the second Saturday of May.
