Perry County is known for the Mennonite communities that offer visitors not only a look at simple, more pure way of life, but also the produce, goods, and services that are a product of their hard work and dedication to their families, their communities, and most of all, their faith. You can see it in everything they do when you visit the Cane Creek and Russell Creek communities in Lobelville, and the Cedar Creek community south of Linden.
When you visit in the beginning of fall, you may have the opportunity to see the sorghum mills in operation. Of course, in the spring and summer, the fresh produce is the big draw for most folks. Whether you come for the experience of shopping at the old “General Store” feel of the Cane Creek Market, looking for fresh produce or homeopathic items like herbs or bee pollen, or beautiful handmade furniture, home items, or even buildings, there is something that will draw your interest.
For more information on when the best time to visit for all that you want to do and see in our Mennonite communities, call Cane Creek Market at (931)593-3242 or the Perry County Chamber of Commerce at (931)589-2453, or email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
